This was one of my favorite projects over the years. I teamed up with Christopher Guillot of Cherry Sound as co-producer. We both agree that the sound we achieved on this was pretty stunning. We produced, mixed, and mastered this project. Unfortunately the band is no longer around but that's why we have recordings right?
This wonderful young woman began working with me at the age of 15. I had rarely met someone so talented and authentic. Here are a few of her songs I produced, mixed, and mastered for her. *You'll hear trombone on Falling Snow. That's me. What a classic.
This Project was one of the biggest I'd done at the time. Matthew had come to demo a few of his songs and we got to talking about really doing something. This is that something. He recorded guitar and vocals first. Then I wrote arranged and produced the rest of the music around his parts. I was fortunate to have a lot of great musicians work for me on this one as well as putting my horn thing on it. Produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Gustav Hoffman.
When Justin and I found each other I was thinking a lot about guitar. A great friend of mine had gone to work for BRMC and I started hanging out with them. Justin recorded guitars and vocals first and then we fit everything in around those. Justin had a lot of input in all the elements. Produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Gustav Hoffman...and some trombone.
You might know Bill McKay from The Derek Trucks Band and Leftover Salmon fame. We talked about doing a solo record for about a year and then went for it. I miked our 1918 Steinway to create 3 different piano treatments featured on this record. These recordings are all live. Produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Gustav Hoffman.
